Please Let Me Hear From You

This blog is for sharing a love of paper crafting. I love paper crafting -
and Stampin' Up! products in particular -
and became an independent Stampin' Up!®™ demonstrator early in 2025.
I'd love to be YOUR demonstrator as you buy your Stampin' Up! products.
Full disclosure: I get a small commission on purchases made
using Stampin' Up! links from this website, but this in no way affects your price.
It just serves to help support this blog. Thank you in advance for that support!

Enjoy browsing my blog, and I'd love to hear from you.
It is what helps make the time I put into this blog feel worthwhile, and always brightens my day.

Weekend Adventures Kit - A Third Extra Page

Today I have another EXTRA scrapbook page from the Weekend Adventures Scrapbooking Workshop kit.

Here's a short video about making this page:

I'm calling this "A Third Extra Page" because if you watched my original two videos about modifying this kit, I actually created the equivalent of 2 extra pages there.

This page came together quite quickly.  I started with a 12 x 12 piece of white cardstock, and I printed my photo with wide margins - printing the title and journaling at the same time.  I used a large piece of leftover buffalo plaid paper in the center of the sheet, and added two strips top and bottom that came from the sticker sheet.  I was happy with that start, and knew the photo would look good with it, but it was too plain.  What to do?

I turned to one of the Creative Design Team Sketchbooks that I had purchased and looked for ideas.  I found a page that had a single photo matted on multiple squares on point and thought that would be great for this layout.  I just chose to use two - one from black, and a smaller one made from Cajun Craze cardstock.  Notice the wavy embossing in the corners of this last one?  I used a Wave paper crimper that I've had for years (though I found one left at Amazon from Uchida).  Since it's opening is 8 1/2", I can't use it on a full 12 x 12 - or even the size I had here - but I CAN crimp the corners - as you can see.  It adds a really nice touch.

Then I had to figure out about some embellishments.  I kept thinking about the words from Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz - "There's no place like home."  I thought that would be perfect for this page.  Since I didn't have any stamps that said that, I decided to print up some hearts with that saying.  I simply created heart shapes in Microsoft word, colored them as I chose, and added the sentence as you see here.  I made several of them in a couple of different colors and three different sizes - with and without the saying so I could choose.  I fussy cut most of them, but I DID die cut the largest using a die from the discontinued Hearts of Elegance die set to create the embroidered look on it.

My final touches were to create some bows using Black Baker's Twine and some Copper Clay Linen Thread that I found in my stash and thought would go well.
