Notes and Totes

I've done something different for our 2nd class this month.  Instead of continuing to explore Z-fold cards, we're exploring a fun stamp and die set called Notes & Totes.  In the process, we're answering these questions: How do I start with a new set?  How can I use it with patterned paper?  How do we make a 3-D version of this "tote"?  This blog shows the resulting projects.  If you'd like to see how they're done, check out the video here:

Card #1:

I started by die cutting all the pieces from the Notes and Totes dies out of white cardstock - then inked and stamped to add color.  After creating all my little pieces using the stamps and dies, I needed a background to put them on!  I wanted a beach-like scene, so I found some leftover papers from two different paper packs I had mostly used up.  The "water" was Otterly Adorable, and the "sand" from Winter Meadow.   I used a paper tearing technique to create a bit of "foam" near the shore line.  All the creation details for this card are in the video.

Card #2:

This time, I went looking for patterned paper and colored cardstock that I could use with these dies.  I found this lovely yellow rose pattern from leftovers from the Lovely Garden paper pack.  And I LOVE the embossing folder I used for the background (Soft Waves 3D).  Again, details are in the video.

3D Tote Gift:

I was given this gorgeous Splendid Day paper some time ago, but the foiled papers are SO pretty I kept waiting to use them for something "special".  This little gift tote was just the thing!  And it was SO easy to make!  Just cut the tote die twice, glue it together, add the handles and it's ready to fill with little goodies!  As you can see, I put tea bags in mine.

I hope you enjoyed these projects today.  I am an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and I would love to have you choose me (Cheryl Manley) as YOUR demonstrator when purchasing from Stampin' Up! I will receive a small commission on such a purchase, but it will not affect the price you pay.  As a thank you for your purchase, your first purchase each month will qualify you to receive a pdf of that month’s class – e-mailed to the e-mail address you list when ordering from Stampin’ Up! (unless you’ve marked that you don’t want to be contacted).
