Please Let Me Hear From You

This blog is for sharing a love of paper crafting. I love paper crafting -
and Stampin' Up! products in particular -
and became an independent Stampin' Up!®™ demonstrator early in 2025.
I'd love to be YOUR demonstrator as you buy your Stampin' Up! products.
Full disclosure: I get a small commission on purchases made
using Stampin' Up! links from this website, but this in no way affects your price.
It just serves to help support this blog. Thank you in advance for that support!

Enjoy browsing my blog, and I'd love to hear from you.
It is what helps make the time I put into this blog feel worthwhile, and always brightens my day.

Aspects of Composition - February Class 2

I apologize for the late posting of these class projects - but the delay means there IS an accompanying YouTube video!

This class is part 2 of Aspects of Composition.  In it, I discussed the following concepts: Visual Weight and Balance, Proportion, and Odd versus Even.  These cards were created to demonstrate some of these concepts.  All three focus on the Trusty Tools stamps and Trusty Tools dies.  Below is a closer look at each card.

Card #1:

I used the pegboard die twice - one beside the other - to create this larger-sized peg board out of Crumb Cake cardstock.  I used narrow 1/16th inch strips of Smoky Slate cardstock to attach the tools to the pegboard.  The tools were stamped with StazOn Jet Black ink onto Silver Foil sheet.  The hammer handle was stamped on Real Red cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  All were die cut using the matching dies.  Patterned paper was from Woven Textures DSP (now discontinued).

Card #2:

Tools were made in a similar way to the previous card.  Mat and toolbox handle were from Smoky Slate cardstockThe piece on which the sentiment is stamped was die cut using Everyday Arches dies - as was the red mat.  I used a discontinued embossing folder called Timber 3D to add texture to the toolbox, but you could get a similar look with the Birch Wood 3D embossing folder.  The pencils were stamped on various colors of cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink - and some colored with Stampin' Blends markers.  Patterned paper is from the discontinued Take to the Sky DSP.

Card #3:

For this third card, I used the Trusty Tools stamps and Trusty Tools dies to create the paint brushes and stamp the sentiment.  I used Crumb Cake and Basic White cardstockMemento Tuxedo Black, Pecan Pie, Lost Lagoon inks.  I colored the brush bristles with the Ivory Stampin' Blend, and the "silver" part of the paint brushes with Smoky Slate.  I used torn pieces of Lost Lagoon cardstock and a piece of Serene Love DSP (discontinued).  The sentiment was cut using a die from the discontinued Mixed Labels dies - cutting it longer than the die itself so it fit the sentiment - using the trick I showed in this video.  I just used a bit more of the Crumb Cake cardstock to fussy cut a mat for it.

So, those are the three cards from this month's class.  As always, I'd love to be your Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  If you make a Stampin' Up! purchase with me as your demonstrator, you not only will get great product and help support my blog (with no increased cost to you), but you will be eligible to get a free pdf of class for the month of your purchase - sent to the e-mail address you used when purchasing (unless you mark "no contact").  Happy crafting!
