Please Let Me Hear From You

This blog is for sharing a love of paper crafting. I love paper crafting -
and Stampin' Up! products in particular -
and became an independent Stampin' Up!®™ demonstrator early in 2025.
I'd love to be YOUR demonstrator as you buy your Stampin' Up! products.
Full disclosure: I get a small commission on purchases made
using Stampin' Up! links from this website, but this in no way affects your price.
It just serves to help support this blog. Thank you in advance for that support!

Enjoy browsing my blog, and I'd love to hear from you.
It is what helps make the time I put into this blog feel worthwhile, and always brightens my day.

Holy Land Exhibit Layout

Here's a really quick layout made about our visit to the HolyLand Experience.  This time I'm not using a scrapbooking workshop kit.  I’m starting with a sketch from one of the Creative Design Team Sketchbooks that I’ve purchased - along with paper and cardstock that I've pulled.

Here is a video showing how I made this - along with a die cutting trick.

Even though I'm not using a kit, because Stampin' Up!s products are based around standard colors it's pretty easy to pull papers and cardstock that will work together.  What a difference from the days before I started using Stampin' Up!  I decided to highlight the greens in the map - so went looking for papers that were Old Olive or Mossy Meadow in color.  It was SO EASY!  For the sketch, I needed 3 patterns - though you barely see one of them in the end!  Anyway, I picked one paper from the newer set called Nature Walk, and a couple of papers from the discontinued set called Serene Love.  I probably could have gotten all I needed from Nature Walk, but I want to use up the discontinued papers that I have.

These pages started with the background layout from the sketch - the darker piece in the middle, and the triangular pieces top and bottom.  It made for a really nice background.

Here's more about each page:

Left Page:

Here you see the left page of the layout.  Each 4 x 6 is a Flip Flap with other photos behind them - and you can see that I printed some journaling directly on some of the photos.  I cut the title in half so I could center it across both pages.  After adding all my pictures, I felt these pages were complete without additional embellishments - there's so much to see already on these two pages!  And the green mats, and the arrangement of green in the background create a couple of visual triangles to move the eye around.

Here's what this page looks like with both flaps open.  Hidden by the 2nd flap is a plain picture of the "temple".

Right Page:

The right page is basically the mirror image of the left.  One thing I haven't mentioned yet is how I made the mats for the map legends and title.  I used the same die from Textured Notes for each - even though the mats for the legends are 3/4" wider than for the title!  Check out the video to see how I made the mats longer using the same die!

Here you see the top flip flap open with the journaling exposed.

And here you see both flaps open - hiding the journaling and showing additional pictures.

So there is the finished spread.  I suspect I may have over reacted to the busyness of the previous Memories in Bloom layout by going a bit sparse on this one, but since the two spreads are next to each other in the scrapbook, I'm certainly not going to worry about it!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today.  I am an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, and I would love to have you choose me (Cheryl Manley) as YOUR demonstrator when purchasing from Stampin' Up! I will receive a small commission on such a purchase, but it will not affect the price you pay.  It simply helps me continue to create these blog posts.
